New radio station: 92.7 FM (?)
There’s apparently a new radio station starting here soon, 92.7 FM, and it looks like they’re soliciting listener input on what kind of radio station they should be:
We’re about to sign on a new radio signal in Bend at 92.7 on FM.
Does anything frustrate you about radio?
We want our station to be part of the solution rather than the problem.
They’re inviting visitors to fill out a survey online—with questions along the lines of whether you’d prefer talk radio or music, what kind of music you’d like to hear, what stations you listen to already, etc. So this could be your chance to help hack the radio… so to speak.

Bend’s current radio stations lack a quality hip-hop and hard rock stations. Either one would be appreciated. Please NO top 40 or talk radio.

there is a great local station 106.7fm that has great punk, hard rock, hip hop, and many other shows, including local talk.
Central oregon lacks good hip hop and latino stations. Either of these kinds would be great.
Well, we already have a top 40s station or two and two classic rock staions so we definatly DON’T need any more of eighther. We need more hip-hop or even better, bring back X94.1 style. There’s not enough modern rock in central oregon. I was especially pleased to hear this station play System of a down earlier.

Demi-Classic Alternative… A beautiful format thusfar. The only thing I’m bummed about is just springing for Sirius to fill the void that Bend’s airwaves where (not) giving us. Keep it up and I will do my best to let loacal merchants know that 92.7 is a great demographic target audience to spend their advertising dollars towards.

THANK YOU! It’s sooooo refreshing to hear some Alternative Rock here in beautiful Bend! So far the play list sounds like it could have come from my own personal collection. I especially enjoyed the PIGEONHED!!! YAHOOOOOOOO! I am so sick of Sheryl Crow I could just throw up. Some Mother Love Bone would be grand, and lest we forget the Beastie Boys? Don’t forget the KINGS of LEON! Thanks for thinking of us other folks who don’t get off on the bubble gum, the oldies or Bruce Springsteen. Welcom HACK!!!
i’d like to hear much more modern rock, like disturbed, korn, ect.
HEY! Where’s the disco at(seriously)!? Though I am not a rocker, I’m enjoying the change of pace. Now, between all the stations, I might find something I like! Lenny Kravitz, Puddle of Mud and Weezer have to go though! No crybaby Canadian rock! Once I hear Nickleback, I’m done – Back to CDs!
I think this town needs a great Hard Rock station comparable to KUFO out of Portland.

I just discovered this station last night & immediately gave you a preset! I’m from so cal & was a big fan of KROQ. I appreciate the alternative & harder rock! I’m with those who’ve had enough top 40 & classic rock! Let us know what we can do to support you, I’ve already told tons of people!

I agree with Dave D. that music that KUFO plays is good, as well as KFLY in Eugene, but dont have as much talk that they do, best radio in the valley in my opinion is KNRQ-Eugene. The MusicChoice Rock channel on Bendbroadband has a good mix of rock on it as well, As long as the new station is unique(should be easy to do) i will like it
How absolutly refreshing to hear TOOL in central oregon. Never thought it’d happen please don’t take it away! There is such a need for modern hard rock and alternative in this deprived area.

The kids and I love the modern stuff sublime, nirvana, green day, ect. Thanks! The variety was sadly lacking with the other stations. I also like classic rock but we’ve got that more than covered already. Maybe you could toss in some dio or dokken from back in the day as well, otherwise, just keep the alternative comin’.

WOW!!!!! This station is amazing! It’s exactly what Bend needed. Try throwing in some Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Static-X, Bionic Jive, Rammstien, HIM, Alien Ant Farm, Powerman 5000, and Black Label Society! Heck YES!
NO hip hop we don’t need that crap nor pop, we have no hard rock mondern rock, I think everyone wants the X to come back, or something like KUFO 101.1 fm in Portland.
I agree with ^—-that guy. Also love alternative! Bend has been lacking an alt station for years and is tired of hearing Led Zeppelin every third song *w* Long live Meat Puppets!
I think Central Oregon is ready to grow some fuckin balls and play some metal! Bands like, Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Trivium. I also think the station should play local music by local Central Oregon Bands (i.e. Wache The Dead).

I love this new radio station 92.7 I like all the music that is being played. I like the idea of the A to Z songs. It would be cool if you could always play music like that.
I think you should play whatever you can that is off the radar of most formatted radio stations. I hate hearing the same song over and over again, as well as the latest copycat band(ie. Nickelback). Rule of thumb should be does it push the boundaries? I.E. MY MORNING JACKET, RADIOHEAD, LUNA, as well as classic boundary pushers TELEVISION, JOY DIVISION, TALIKING HEADS, VELVET UNDERGROUND ETC………………

it’s about time we here in central oregon had something worth listening too, classic rock can only get you threw part of the day, and top 40 you can only listen for an hour and then you can listen to the same song again. just what we need is a station that makes you want to turn it up so your ears bleed…………………………………..crank it.

Love most of what u guys are doin with the new station. But it definitely needs some polishing. Bend really, REALLY needs to have a hard rock/metal station. We have nothing of that trend and all the other stations here blow. The last thing we need is another classic rock or rap/r&b station. Gag! Keep the good work up!!!!!

I crapped my pants when I heard Tool on the 92.7 when channel surfing here..finally a station i don’t have to keep my windows up because im listening to Britney Spears or some American Idol gig..
i was a big x 94.1 fan. who was and still is disapointed when 94.1 became the rotten power station that it is now. it would benice to have a good rock station that plays things like matalica,alice and chains,static x,ect….but, please leave out that dang talk radio. and bring back the woodman and sasquash if they are still around. p.s. thanks for bringing rock back to central oregon
