The goal? Collect, gather, and share information to understand and support the practical business reality that GM must make hard choices. To help communicate that these choices must be fully informed.

Losing Bob Thomas in Bend would mean the nearest Chevy/GM dealership (for service as well as sales) would be in Madras—quite a one-two punch to the local economy. Go check out the site, submit a comment, you never know what could help.

  1. i hope the bob thomas dealership is bend is gone.
even though i would feel sorry for his employees.
bob thomas is the most unprofessional large business owner i have ever met.
    he is a total opportunist.
my friends and family have written letters to both GM and ron wyden,
explaining the reasons why he is not the person GM needs at this time.
yes he needs to go—-and soon

  2. Chevy vehicles have the worst resell value for a reason, and have done so for long before this whole recession happened.

Let’s get a honda or toyota dealership or something in bend, at least they’re built to last and retain great resell value for a reason.

RIP Chevy/GM, you’ve proved yourself in my mind.

  3. I have bought and had my cars serviced at Gary Gruner Chevrolet for years. They are an outstanding operation and were selected to stay by GM because they get the job done right! I also hear they are looking at sights in Bend to continue service/parts and sales in Bend. In the mean time, they offer to pick your car up in Bend to have it serviced in Madras. WOW..Now that’s commitment!

  4. I can not believe the letters above about Bob Thomas. I have had excellent service results from Bob Thomas. Bend can not afford to loose another new car dealer. If you close Bend this will be the last you see of me as I will never buy GM again. No Madras is not an option AT ALL. That’s the craziest proposal I’ve ever seen. But I guess par for the course these days. I would never allow my car to be driven that far by a minimum wage worker..that’s crazy.. NO. Madras…you have got to be kidding.

  5. WELL WE’LL SEE WHEN THERE IS 1,2 OR 3 FEET OF SNOW ON THE GROUND WHO’S GOING TO BE THE ONE AND I MEAN THE ONE TO
REPAIR YOU’ GM VEHICLE. CORVETTES, CADILLACS AND VERY
TECHNICAL VEHICLES. AGAIN NO AND I MEAN NOBODY OTHER
THAN BOB THOMAS IN BEND WILL BE ABLE TO FIX YOUR VEHICLE.

  6. I don’t know much about the Chevy dealer in town but wow, I was just at the Ford dealership and experienced probably the worst customer service ever. The guy had no idea what he even sold and told me factually incorrect information about a car, let alone he never bothered to leave the building to come greet us.

For an industry that should WANT our business, they certainly didn’t appear like that was the case.

They should be pumping out nothing but EXCELLENCE right now trying to get sales, instead they were igorant and lethargic.

It makes me understand why businesses go under. The economy is down, people need to pick their freakin game up. The era of entitlement and free rides are over.

  7. I’ve been retired at Crooked River Ranch for 10 years, 30 miles from Bend. I haven’t purchased a new car since I’ve been here, but I hear about bob thomas all the time, and what they do for the community. If and when I do buy a car, I would have liked to go there. I appreciate their support for the Bend Elks Collegiate Baseball League. Let’s keep bob thomas!
