Deschutes County Fair, free on Friday before 3

The annual Deschutes County Fair is coming up at the end of this month (from July 29 through August 1), and while we can expect the usual—carnival rides, fair food, craft exhibits, livestock exhibits, etc.—the County is also emphasizing the free:

…includes three FREE concerts;  free, award-winning rodeo Wednesday through Saturday….

*Friday’s Fair is even more FREE and fabulous this year: Free Lady Antebellum concert, free admission for everyone before 3:00 p.m., free rodeo admission, free Bulletin Kids Fun Zone and free transportation to and from the Fair!*

*FREE Concerts at the Hooker Creek Event Center Include:

  • Jake Owen: 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29. Listen to The Mountain 99.7 for free tickets.
  • Peter Frampton: 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. Listen to The Twins 98.3 for free tickets.
  • Lady Antebellum: 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Listen to The Mountain 99.7 for free tickets.

*Fair admission is not included when you receive a free ticket to attend these concerts.

The big one I highlighted is the free Friday admission: anytime before 3pm, you’ll get in to the Fair for free. That’s a pretty good deal, since regular prices are $9 for adults and $6 for kids ages 6-12 (5 and under are free). Saves you money for the carny rides.

On top of all that, there are free shuttles going to and from the Fair from Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and LaPine. Locations and times for those shuttles can be found on this flier here (PDF).

  1. Hey there- Just a heads up that the free till 3 entry to the fair on Friday will be good with a coupon out of The Bulletin. Supposedly you won’t be able to walk right in unless you have the coupon.

    Just a head’s up!
