Information about local (& regional) pumpkin patches

Rather than re-invent the wheel, Bendite Stephanie Hicks wrote an awesome blog post about Central Oregon pumpkin patches which are now open for business!

She talks about the activities at the DD Ranch in Terrebone, Central Oregon Pumpkin Company and Rasmussen Farms in Hood River.

Interesting note about the Rasmussen Farm Pumpkin Patch in Hood River:

The pumpkin patch and other activities at Rasmussen Farms has been rated as one of the 11 best places in the United States for Halloween by nickjr.com. Sunset Magazine also recommends Pumpkin Funland as a “must see.”

What isn’t mentioned is the Bend Parks and Rec Annual Pumpkin Patch. I can’t seem to find any information on it so maybe it’s not happening? It’s absent from their event calendar.

  1. Bend Park and Recreation isn’t doing their pumpkin patch anymore because their are plenty of private ones now.

  2. Yes, it is true that we are not having the Pumpkin Festival this year. When we began the event 21 years ago there were not many opportunities for family harvest activities in the region. As Stephanie mentioned, there are several now. We felt like the community could benefit from us doing something different so this year we put on the free Day of Play instead. We’d love to hear feedback on this.

    1. We’ve been going to that pumpkin patch for a long time and missed it tremendously. The day of play was really quite a bad idea, not gonna lie.

  3. My family and I loved the pumpkin patch. It was a place where I could have fun and ride through the haunted barn and see all the kids Inc staff I know and also get a pumpkin. When we heard they weren’t doing it this year, my mom and I went ” Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!” I think the day of play is a bad idea. BRING BACK THE PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
