Bend Christmas Parade, The Nutcracker, Civil War, and more

It’s cold cold cold this Saturday but that isn’t stopping the Bend Christmas Parade, which starts at noon Downtown. This year’s theme is “Christmas Carols on Parade” and it follows the usual route, starting on the west side of the River on Newport and Harmon, crossing the Newport bridge, then following Wall and Franklin (which turns into Riverside Blvd.) back across the River.

It’ll be a lot of fun, but also very cold—it’s currently only 28 degrees right now—so if you’d rather stay warm, then you might want to check out The Nutcracker, being performed by the Central Oregon School of Ballet today with two shows at Bend High School: at 3pm and 7pm. You can purchase tickets online here.

There’s also this little thing in college football known as the Civil War—the Ducks vs. the Beavers—and McMenamins is showing the game on their big theater screen (starting at 12:30). The doors open at noon, however, and it’s first come, first served if you want a good seat.

Tonight at Silver Moon Brewing, indie folk and blues musician Grant Sabin is playing, starting at 9pm. Cover is only $5, and will feature opening act The Dela Project.
