NorthWest Crossing Bend Spring Festival

The Bend Spring Festival is back this weekend, and it’s taking place over in NorthWest Crossing again this year: this weekend from Friday the 15th through Sunday the 17th, “NorthWest Crossing Drive, off Mt. Washington Drive, between Skyliners and Shevlin Park Roads, will come alive, as we utilize art, food, spirits, music, and family-oriented activities to usher in Spring!”

The main streets of NW Crossing will be closed, admission is free (though food and drink aren’t, naturally), and there are a ton of things going on including live music, a “Wine & Art Bop” Friday night, kids activities, a live outdoor comedy stage, and more.

One of the more interesting-sounding events is the Street Chalk Art Competition, taking place Saturday:

“Pull your best Picasso” by entering the Garner Group Street Chalk Art Competition (for both adults and kids) and qualify to win one of 8 cash prizes (including $750 prize for the chalk mural voted “best” in the adult category). The space is free, chalk will be provided (although you can bring your own), your images must be appropriate and feature “spring theme”– you can pre-register with sarah@c3events.com – or you can “walk up” to compete, assuming spaces will still be available for walk ups.

Lots of details on the event page so be sure to check it. The weather’s looking to be iffy this weekend—cloudy and mid-50s—but hopefully it’ll be nice enough to enjoy the Festival.
