The Paper Factory is closing

Just got word tonight (via my wife, who got the news from our daughter, and she called to confirm) that The Paper Factory in the Bend Factory Stores (the factory outlets) is closing, and their last day is Saturday.

If you’re unfamiliar with the store, it’s largely a party supply store; in addition to the cards and wrapping paper and such, they sell party accessories, balloons, decorations, party favors, and so on. It sounds like right now they have everything on sale since this Saturday (the 5th) is their last day. Get in while you can over the next two days.

  1. Bummer. The gal that works there has been there since it opened. They always have good prices on wrapping paper and other stuff that you need but don’t want to spend a fortune on.

  2. Bad news…I am always sorry to hear about a business closing in our town and it occurs too often these days. Supporting local businesses is a lot easier said than done. I am sure my family could have done better to support The Paper Factory (instead of Target). But remembering and having the time to travel to a specialty store is becoming more difficult as our lives become busier.

I am going to do my best to support the local economy by buying from locally owned organizations and will try to remember the little guys. Now that we are embarking on the holiday season, it is the perfect time to start.

I am truly sorry to hear this news.
