The next Ignite Bend (number 8 ) is coming up a scant two months away, on February 23rd, and it’s time to start thinking about submitting a proposal. Yes, I am of course talking about you; you should definitely consider getting on stage for five minutes to talk about—well, anything you want, really. You talk for five minutes and you are accompanied by a PowerPoint slideshow that consists of 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds.
It’s easy, but it’s also scary, exhilarating, fun, nerve-wracking, enlightening, and amazing. I did a presentation myself, a couple of Ignites ago, on beer (what else?). And though I sweated bullets all the way up until it was time to get up on stage, I had a really great time and in fact the five minutes went much faster than I imagined they would. It was awesome.
So if you could do a presentation at Ignite, what would it be about? Pretty much anything is acceptable, as long as it’s not a sales pitch of some kind. And it has to be family friendly (kids often attend as well). Need ideas? You can view past Ignite Bend presentations on YouTube.
Go! Submit a proposal!
Full disclosure: I’m a new member of the Ignite Bend committee, so I’m officially working on this next Ignite.
