The Blacksmith has re-opened

The BlacksmithLast month Jen posted about the Blacksmith Restaurant being under new ownership; and this past weekend, they celebrated their grand re-opening after undergoing renovations and have rolled out an all new menu (apparently; I hadn’t eaten there for a long time so I can’t really say how much newer it is than the old one).

It’s been kind of a strange journey for the Blacksmith since former owner Gavin McMichael filed for bankruptcy back in November of 2011; and last year it was put up for sale (PDF link) for what seemed to me to be an incredibly low price (though that document shows $250,000, I could swear I saw a listing somewhere which had a far lower price—does anyone else remember seeing that?).

One of the big renovations seems to be the bar: no longer the white marble lit from beneath, it looks to be a hammered copper finish now, judging by the photos on Facebook. Though in the KTVZ story it’s kind of hard to tell. Other things look very similar to what was there before.

I’ll be curious to hear what people think about the changes. I’ll try to stop in at some point to check it out myself too.
