Traveling Brewers’ Dinner Party at McMenamins this Saturday

McMenamins Old St. Francis SchoolThis Saturday, April 20, McMenamins Old St. Francis School is teaming up with three other local breweries to present a “Traveling Brewer’s Dinner Party” that looks like all kinds of fun for all you beer-and-food aficionados out there. Here’s the description:

If you like to drink good beer and eat good food, this event is for you. Our own brewers, along with GoodLife Brewing, Boneyard Beer and Crux Fermentation Project, will take you around the property, sampling food and drinks at O’Kane’s courtyard, one of our spacious guestrooms, the Fireside Room courtyard and our onsite brewery.

And here’s the menu/schedule so far:

Father Luke’s Room
Double Cross Strong Dark Belgian [Crux Fermentation Project]

Our Pope Vienna Lager [OSF Brewery]
Grilled oysters and a lager mignonette sauce
Crux Pilsner [Crux Fermentation Project]
Mini vegetable skewers marinated in pilsner

OSF Guestroom
29er Brown [GoodLife Brewing]
Risotto balls

Diablo En Fuego Red [Boneyard Beer]
Fresh grilled jalapeño poppers

Sweet As Pale [GoodLife Brewing]
Mini reuben
RPM IPA [Boneyard Beer]
Mini salmon slider with RPM glaze

Father Luke’s Room
Black Scratch Chocolate/Vanilla Porter [OSF Brewery]
Molten lava cake

I have to say, this looks pretty awesome and I love the idea. The cost is $50 which is a pretty good deal for an eight-course menu like this, not even mentioning the beer; you can get reservations by calling 541-382-5174.

It kicks off at 6pm, and obviously is a 21-and-over event only.

If food and beer and cool breweries is your thing, don’t miss out!
