Ray’s Food Place is closing

Ray's Food PlaceNews broke today that the Ray’s Food Place stores in Bend and Redmond be closing, due to Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by the parent company, C&K Market. Both the Bulletin and KTVZ have stories on the closing, but the gist is that competition from big stores like Walmart and Costco has been instrumental in the filing and closures.

The Ray’s stores in La Pine, Sisters, and Prineville will remain open, and the two being closed will remain open through the holidays and close early in the new year. You can see a full list of what’s closing (and what’s remaining open) here.

As to the Bend store, my wife wondered what would happen to the High Desert Growler Room (growler fill station) located inside? Is that a separate business?
