New Year’s Eve 2013 happenings

New Year's EveHard to believe the year is ending in just a few days! If you don’t yet have plans for News Year’s Eve and are looking for something to do, here’s a rundown of things going on that night:

McMenamins Old St. Francis School: Starting at 9pm they will have live music featuring Jeff Crosby & The Refugees and Worth, which will cost $5 at the door. Of course there will be plenty of beer, food, wine, and more.

Silver Moon Brewing: Their party also kicks off at 9pm with live music by Strive Roots and specials featuring $5 drink specials and $4 champagne all night long.

The Blacksmith: Their annual New Year’s bash starts early with 5 to 9pm dinner seating and classic quartet music, followed by DJ Tanner kicking off at 10pm for the rest of the night. VIP tables are available, call 541-318-0588 for reservations.

Pronghorn Resort: Their New Year’s Eve celebration starts with a prix-fixe dinner from 6 to 9pm, and dancing and live music with Out of the Blue runs from 9pm to 1am. Reservations are required and costs are: Dinner & Party, $109; Dinner Only, $70; Party Only, $40. Email ph.reservations@aubergeresorts.com to make reservations.

Seven Nightclub: They are holding a 1920’s Great Gatsby-inspired costume party for the evening, from 6pm until closing (2:30). The description: “VIP AVAILABLE: 3 Upper VIP Tables $200 | 2 Stage-side booths $75 (3-$200 Upper VIP include includes entry for 10 • 2-$75 smaller booths hold and include entry for 5), tray of jello shots, free coat check, server, security, midnight champagne toast and bottle service available. Please call: 541-760-9412 to reserve.”

5 Fusion: They have a champagne dinner with caviar, specials, and “some of the best Champagne and sparkling wines on the planet” to enjoy. You can reserve a spot online or call 541-323-2328.

Old Mill Brew Werks: They are holding a five-course New Year’s Eve dinner with two seatings, 6pm and 8pm, which costs $50 per person. The menu looks great and of course there is always Brew Werks beer to go along with it. Call 541-633-7670 to reserve a spot.

Sunriver Resort: They have a whole bunch of New Year’s Eve happenings going on, from special dinners at The Lodge and at Crosswater Grille, a special kid-friendly family night (on east coast time), big party at The Lodge going late, and a teen dance. Lots of options you’ll want to check out.

Brasada Ranch: Like Sunriver Resort, Brasada has a number of things going on ranging from kid-friendly to the late night party. Reservations will be required for any and all of them, so call 541-526-6870 to reserve a spot (or several).

The Old Stone Church: They are hosting Larry and His Flask for a special 10th anniversary New Year’s Eve party featuring (besides The Flask) Cornshed, Willy Tea and the Jazz Apples, with Tommy V. Three Bars. There are only 300 tickets available for $15 each, you can purchase them online here.

Volcanic Theatre Pub: They are hosting an all-ages New Year’s Eve party featuring live music from the rock band Patrimony, starting at 9pm and costing $5.

The Riverhouse: In addition to lodging specials they are hosting a special prix fixe menu at Crossings on New Year’s Eve, to “include an appetizer, entree, dessert and champagne for $54 per person.” And: “After dinner, Crossings Lounge will feature Jim Beam specialty drinks along with fabulous giveaways such as hotel stays in Portland and Portland Trailblazer tickets.” Call 541-389-8810 to reserve a spot for dinner.

Maverick’s: They have a Red Solo Cup New Year’s Eve party starting at 8pm, for $3 per person. For this third annual party, “This year, $1 per guest will be given to our local food bank. You don’t have to miss the ball dropping ceremony, it will be on the big screen.”

River Rim Coffeehouse: “We ring in the New Year at 9 pm, with Times Square in New York. As an encore to last year we are pleased to announce we’ll also have local favorite Strings Attached performing from 7 – 9:30!”

Jem Raw Organics: Their fourth annual New Year’s Eve party has a Moulin Rouge theme: “We are dressing up for this and so should you. ¡Chiringa! Shireen Amini’s Latin Band will be bringing the live Latin dance party. Opening band Picasso’s Pony and a Moulin Rouge inspired DJ set by Dirty Little Fun Haver will complete the night. Special Tribal Fusion dance performance, dessert by the JEM Masters, lots of great snacks and a No Host bar. Toast included in price. $20 ticket pre-sale. $25 at the door.” Pre-purchase tickets online here.

Velvet: Their New Year’s Eve party features “DJ Byrne, no cover, lots of champagne” and it starts at 9pm.

The Astro Lounge: Their party starts at 9pm and features DJ MC Raider Mystic where you can party like a rockstar to 2013’s hottest dance hits, with a balloon drop at midnight.

Dojo: They are holding a black tie party (really!) featuring Mr. Wu, Matt Wax and Ells, all starting at 9:30 and going late. Dressing accordingly (suit and tie, cocktail dresses) will get you in free.

The Domino Room: They are holding a New Year’s Eve “rager” with Medium Troy (“Classical instruments meet dub-hop, dance, projection mapping in a full psychedelic multimedia fantasia”) starting at 9pm and costing $10.
