Halloween Weekend Happenings

Here’s a rundown of the many activities going on (and if you’re looking for trick or treat activities for the kids, click here to jump to that section):

Power 94 Monster Ball:

This year is going to be the BIGGEST Monster Ball yet! The 2014 Power 94 Monster Ball will again be inside the “Midtown Ballroom” Downtown Bend. Get your tickets in advance Powder House Ski & Snowboard or at the Spirit Halloween SuperStore on 3rd between Franklin & Greenwood for $15 or at the door for $20. This event is 21 and over ONLY, must have ID! Cash only bars, but there will be an ATM if you run out of cash!

McMenamins Old St. Francis School — Get Your Costume & Funk On for Halloween:

[21 and over, Free] Come in costume to celebrate the spookiest of holidays. Our live music will pair well with the seasonal beers on tap! Boogie down to the sounds of Elektrapod, playing their signature brand that fuses soul, funk, disco, electronica and jamming, in the Theater from 9 p.m. ’til midnight. If it’s a DJ dance party you wanna rock out to while wearing your witch hat, join us in Father Luke’s as DJ 26E4U spins from 8 p.m. ’til 12 midnight.

Broken Top Bottle Shop, Crook & Sum’s Stupendous TAROT READINGS for HALLOWEEN!

Dr. Evelyn Crook and Mistress Quantum Sum present a night of insight and imagination for your Halloween pleasure.

Join them in their mysterious tent inside Broken Top Bottle Shop for mysterious insights into the mysteries of life!

Free!

Donations accepted to benefit the Humane Society of Central Oregon.

Movie and music at  Volcanic Theatre Pub:

This Friday, October 31st Volcanic Theatre Presents HALLOWEEN at VTP with screening of Bubba Ho-Tep starring Bruce Campbell at 7:30pm followed by [live music with] Mosley Wotta, Warm Gadget, Third Seven, and Marshall Law at 9:30pm. There is a $10 cover at the doors for both events ot $7 for each event. Volcanic Theatre Pub is located at 70 SW Century Drive (Next to GoodLife Brewing) and is open to all ages.

RiverBend Brewing, Mafioso Murder Mystery:

  • Interactive murdery mystery with 4-course dinner.
  • Prizes for best costume
  • Prizes for who solves the murder
  • Limited seating

2nd Street Theater, The Rocky Horror Picture Show:

$10 admission, starts at 11:45pm

Movie, with live actors. No Rice!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 musical comedy horror film directed by Jim Sharman. The screenplay was written by Sharman and Richard O’Brien based on the 1973 musical stage production, The Rocky Horror Show, also written by O’Brien. The production is a humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1930s through early 1970s.

Crow’s Feet Commons, Halloween Bike Bash:

Pumpkin Carving, Craft Crafting, Push Bike Racing, Caramel Apple-ing, Race-registering and drink drinking

In an effort to further enhance the Mirror Pond Plaza and build community (as if we aren’t doing enough), we want every little kid and adult in the greater Central Oregon area to bring your best Halloween game downtown!
JJ-Fad, our fine barista will be leading a craft-making, pumpkin carving and bike decorating event for the little ones. Bring them down in the best halloween dress and have some fun.
At 5:00pm, join us in the 2nd Annual Toy De Toystore.
A Strider/Push-bike race this “race” will weave around the shop, out in the courtyard and will rally down Wall Street ending at @Leaping Lizards.

Deschutes Brewery Jungle Cross Warehouse Party: In conjunction with the Halloween Cyclocross Crusade, this takes place Saturday the 1st starting at 8pm. Cost is $15.

Mark your calendars, get your costumes ready and join us during the Halloween Cross Crusades for the warehouse party of the year! Not only will you be able to watch the exciting Cyclocross Crusade races on our lawn in the Old Mill District Saturday and Sunday from 8:40am to 4pm, but from 8:00pm-3:00am on Saturday, enjoy the Jungle themed party we’re calling, “Jungle Cross”!

In addition to live music and stage performances by Chicago Afrobeat Project, DJ Professor Stone, DJ GlobalRuckus, BasssGhost, and Prom Jim there will also be other amazing live acts too! Come hang in the jungle, be entertained by jungle-like performers and drink some beer-inspired jungle juice while you get your jungle boogie on!

Trick or Treating / Kids

Halloween Party and Trick or Treating in the Old Mill District

4 to 7pm

Watch as Chelsea rallies the trick or treating troop of kids for a Halloween they won’t forget in Bend. The Old Mill District hosts a safe and FREE Halloween party with much more to do than just trick or treating from store to store.

Pet Costume Contest with Humane Society
Sunriver Nature Center and a great horned owl
Performance by Peace Chords of Westside Village Magnet School
Ginger’s Kitchenware will be handing out Oregon Community Foundation Dental Kits for the kids
Bend Memorial Clinic will have information on their new Urgent Care location in the Old Mill District.

Trick or Treating at Cascade Village Shopping Center:

Halloween is creeping up on you… how will you celebrate? Cascade Village Shopping Center invites you to Trick or Treat HERE, where it’s safe, fun & warm! From 4-7 pm on Halloween… Just look for the BLACK & ORANGE balloons at participating Merchants!

Trick or Treating at Brookswood Meadow Plaza:

Join the participating businesses of Brookswood Meadow Plaza for Trick-Or-Treating from 4:00-6:00pm on Halloween! The community gathering center and popular destination in Southwest Bend invites all young ghouls and goblins in costume to join in the fun!
