High Desert Maker Mill – Opening & Meetup

After leading and participating in meetups and local events throughout Bend, the High Desert Maker Mil is planning to open their physical Makerspace on May 1st. In preparation, they are hosting a meetup tonight (April 20th) and they invite the public to participate.

Here’s the full announcement:

I am proud to announce that High Desert Maker Mill has secured a building and is preparing to open to the public beginning May 1st. With the recent opening of Bend’s first makerspace-DIYcave, the expansion of S.T.E.A.M. support from multiple partners throughout the tri-county area, and a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, 2015 is looking to be a banner year for Makers in Central Oregon!

High Desert Makers has partnered with Cascade Divide Datacenters to make a 15,000sqft building available on SW Columbia St. Over 7,000sqft is dedicated to the makerspace, with additional space configured as offices, storage, rentable workbenches, and even some large rentable shop spaces. In fact, Onboard Dynamics (http://www.onboarddynamics.com/) has already selected this building to continue their research and development!

We’re hosting a meetup on Monday, April 20th to give everyone a chance to see the building, and help develop the buildout plan. We’re building a community makerspace…come be a part of it!
