Walla Walla’s Va Piano Vineyards opening in Old Mill

Va Piano Vineyards

Have you ever been to Walla Walla, Washington? In the past two decades or so they’ve emerged as a major wine destination, and they currently have well over 100 wineries in the region (a pretty crazy amount, really). Well word came down (via press release) that one of them is going to be opening a tasting room in the Old Mill District this spring: Va Piano Vineyards. They are one we’ve enjoyed on trips to Walla Walla.

Here’s the press release:

Va Piano Vineyards, a premier winery located in Walla Walla, Washington, announced they are opening a tasting room in beautiful Bend, OR. The tasting room will be located in the Old Mill District, and is an extension of the main tasting room in Walla Walla, WA. The Grand Opening is April 22-24, 2016.

Owner/winemaker Justin Wylie said, “Bend’s popularity as both a place to live and a destination for visitors made it the perfect place for us to share our wines with a larger audience. Locating our new tasting room in the Old Mill District was a no brainer: not only is the riverfront setting picture perfect, but the district is a main attraction for both locals and tourists who come to shop, dine and, we’re sure, drink some great wine.”

The name Va Piano means ‘go slow’ and embodies a simple philosophy: great wine is an invitation to slow down and relax. Since 2003, Va Piano has focused on small lot Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs from premier Washington State growers, including their own Walla Walla Valley Estate Vineyards. Wylie says, “The best characteristics of the region are carefully selected and captured in every bottle of Va Piano wine.”

Va Piano’s Grand Opening at the Old Mill District, 425 SW Powerhouse DR Suite 301, will take place April 22-24, 2016 and will feature wine tasting (of course!) and hors d’oeuvres. Owners and winemaker Justin and Liz Wylie will be pouring and discussing their outlook on life which led them to create one of the most sought after wineries in the Walla Walla Valley.

So if you like wine, mark your calendars for that weekend in April and be sure to check out what Va Piano has to offer!
