Weekend breakfast at the Brickhouse

Did you know the Brickhouse restaurant in downtown Bend is serving breakfast on the weekends these days? Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 1pm they are open for breakfast/brunch service, and have a pretty tasty-looking menu. We decided to try it out and this weekend met friends for breakfast.

Breakfast of champions: Fried chicken and waffles, coffee, Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA

The food was good—you can see my plate in the picture there (Cajun fried chicken, so on the spicy side), and other dishes at the table includes a breakfast burrito, bananas foster French toast, biscuits and gravy, and the Brickhouse benedict, and all were enjoyed by everyone. It’s not particularly cheap, depending on what you order, but overall it’s worth it.

Only the main part of the restaurant was open, the main dining by the bar; the “annex” areas in the back and side were closed. I don’t know if they would open those up for busy mornings. It wasn’t too busy while we were there, not so we needed reservations or anything (though you might call ahead if you’re unsure).

So the verdict: it was good, and I’d go again. Plus with the bar you can have a pint of beer with your breakfast or brunch, which is always a nice option (if you’re into that). Go check it out!
