The first High Fiber Arts Symposium begins today

Today, Friday the 13th, is the first day of the High Fiber Arts Symposium taking place in the Old Mill District, which continues through Saturday. It promises to be “one the most comprehensive events for fiber artists throughout the Pacific Northwest.” From the release:

The Symposium will explore the cutting edge of traditional craft, how the handmade has been influenced by technology, and explore how the expressive needs of the artist have caused the use of fiber to transcend its humble origins. The Symposium includes hands-on workshops, art talks and demonstrations, exhibits, an all-day Marketplace Pop-Up featuring local fiber artists and a Fashion Runway finale.
