The Little Woody is back this Labor Day weekend
Bend’s niche-est and possibly coolest beer festival, The Little Woody, returns this Labor Day weekend, taking place Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd. This year promises 26 breweries and cider makers pouring their wood-aged specialties, all taking place at the Deschutes Historical Museum!
My latest article for the Bulletin is about The Little Woody and was published today in their GO! Magazine. (Be sure to pick one up!) Basic entry to the Fest (which includes a glass but no tokens) is $15, while the tasting package includes eight tokens for $20.
In addition to the beers and ciders, there are also whiskeys available (which are aged in barrels, of course). You can get to the list of breweries and the whiskeys here.
This is always a great brewfest, and even though the weather is promising to be cooler, you should still plan to come out! The hours are 5pm to 10pm Friday, and noon to 10pm Saturday.
What a rip off! Don’t go unless you want to pay $20 for 12 ounces of beer. What they don’t tell you is that most tastings cost 3 tokens and you only get eight for your $20. Also, not all of the beers are barrel aged (which are 3 tokens each), many others are your standard IPAs and ales (2 tokens). So save your 20 bucks and buy a couple of six packs of local microbrews!
