I posted the other day about the Bend City Council meeting minutes and following along with the City government business. Well, Deschutes County also posts the schedules and agenda of the Board of County Commissioners online on a public portal. The meetings are open to the public and are also live streamed on video (which is recorded and available). From the County’s site:
The Commissioners’ business meetings are generally held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Business meetings are held in the Barnes and Sawyer Rooms at the Deschutes Services Building, located at 1300 NW Wall Street, in Bend. Business meetings are streamed live and video recorded.
The Commissioners’ work sessions are generally held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. in the Allen Conference Room (2nd floor) at the Deschutes Services Building, located at 1300 NW Wall Street, in Bend.
Occasionally the Board will conduct formal meetings in other locations and at other times of the day. Please check meeting information ahead of time to find out if a special meeting has been scheduled to address a specific issue.
If you have questions about the Board’s meeting schedule, please contact the Board’s secretary at (541) 388-6572 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
County Commissioner meetings and actions are perhaps not as immediately relevant to Bend residents as the City Council’s, but this is still a good resource for anyone interested in how this all works on the local level.
