Caution on the River at Pringle Falls

Another dispatch from Deschutes County to post in one day: this one’s an advisory on the Deschutes River. With a photo even! The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that the area of the Deschutes River near the Pringle Falls footbridge is extremely hazardous at this time and should be considered impassable. Mosquitoes and West Nile virus

This advisory came in from Deschutes County yesterday, and while I don’t think there’s much likelihood of West Nile showing up, you can never be too careful. An unusual fluctuation in the river levels around Central Oregon is causing a tremendous spike in mosquito hatches this season in Deschutes County.
