First Friday (Feb 2012)

It’s First Friday and Art Walk in Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District tomorrow: art galleries and other businesses stay open late to showcase art and often live music, and many also offer complimentary food and wine. Bend Christmas Parade

This Saturday, December 3rd, is the annual Bend Christmas Parade, one of my favorite downtown events (even though it’s usually really cold!). This year’s theme is the “Sights and Sounds of Christmas” and starts at noon. The Parade route starts at Newport and Harmon on the west side of the river, crosses the Newport Avenue bridge and follows Wall Street through downtown to Franklin, where it then follows Franklin/Riverside (along Drake Park) to end across … Continue reading →

Veterans Day Parade

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, and at 11am downtown is the annual Veterans Day Parade. The streets downtown will be closed as the parade follows essentially the same route at the Christmas Parade: Wall Street to Franklin/Drake Park to Galveston to Harmon Street (unfortunately I don’t know exactly how long the parade lasts). Friday night in downtown Bend – crazy busy

This first Friday of September is going to be one of the busiest Downtown Bend has seen lately.
