Good news, Eastsiders: Reed Market Road is set to re-open on Saturday (the 16th), marking the completion of the first two stages of construction that’s been going on for… well, awhile now. However the re-opening announcement was also qualified with “weather permitting” so I guess if there’s a blizzard or tornado or something it won’t be opened.

And then in 2014 it will be closed once again:

Construction will resume early in 2014 for the third stage of the project.  Reed Market Road will be closed from Orion Avenue to 27th Street.  The temporary, signed detour route for Reed Market Road through traffic will be re-established utilizing SE 15th Street, NE Bear Creek Road, SE 27th Street and SE Ferguson Road.
